NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)
NCC (Army Wing) was introduced at Pope’s College in June 1964 as a Sub – Unit of 23, Tamil Nadu Battalion. NCC, Thoothukudi under NCC Directorate of Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry. Initially the Cadet Strength was 200 as one company and in due course as the student population increased another company was added. The second company of cadets had a strength of 100 cadets.
“Unity and Discipline”
The three colors in the NCC flag depict the three services of the Corps, red for the Army, deep blue for the Navy and light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC and the NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag encircled by a wreath of lotus, give the flag a colorful look and a distinct identity.

The great victory
of Indian Armed Forces over Pak Army, Year 2021 is being celebrated as the
“Swarnim Vijay Varsh”. As part of the celebration Painting competition was conducted
by Gp HQ. Our NCC Cadets participated in the Painting competition on 05.07.
