HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Pope’s College runs separate hostels for men and women students within the campus. The Hostels are under the direct control of the warden and sub wardens.
  • Students shall submit at the beginning of the year a list of visitors signed by the parents.
  • Students must occupy the room allotted to them by the wardens. No change can be made without the permission of the warden.
  • Inmates are expected to abide by the rules of the hostel.
  • Smoking and consuming of alcoholic beverages are strictly banned in the hostel premises. Defaulters will be dismissed straight away.
  • Students are not permitted to have mobile phones or iron box or any such gadgets.
  • On no account, outsiders/day students should be taken to inmates’ rooms or inside the hostel. Defaulters will be dismissed straight away.
  • The mess is common for vegetarian and non-vegetarian students.
  • The monthly bill should be paid on or before 5th of the subsequent month.
  • Study hours should be followed strictly. The inmates are advised to switch off fans and lights when leaving the study hall.
  • Students should keep no money or valuables in their rooms. The authorities accept no responsibility if such money or articles are lost.
  • The warden can carryout surprise checks of the inmates’ rooms at any time.
  • The inmates will keep their rooms, beds and surroundings clean and tidy.
  • Defacing the walls or doors, damaging furniture or any kind of destruction is punishable individually or collectively if the person at fault is not traceable.
  • Every student shall deem it his/her duty to do his/her best towards the maintenance of discipline, peace and harmony in the hostel.
  • Hostel students will participate in the social service programmes organized by the authorities on campus without fail.
  • Hostel Prize for good conduct, academic performance, discipline and cleanliness will be awarded annually on the opinion of the warden and subwarden.
